Here are 5 reasons why WordPress is better:
1. User Friendly
Editing content in WordPress is very similar Microsoft Word, making it easy for non-techy people to update their website. At the same time WordPress offers unlimited control for web developers who often prefer to work with html and ftp clients.
2. Free, and high quality
Wordpress is a crowd sourced project with hundreds of people working around the clock to make it better. WordPress is free, updates (which are free) are frequently released and easy to install (1-click). Considering the rate web coding evolves, it is very nice to have a website that is easily updated. Did I mention WordPress is free?
3. Third Party Developers
Wordpress has an active community of third party plugin developers. These plugins enhance the functionality of WordPress, and most of them are free.
4. Easily Updated
The look and feel of a WordPress website is called a "theme," and is very easy to change. You can install more than one theme and easily switch between them (though changing themes may require some settings to be adjusted). There are hundreds, if not thousands of high-quality themes available for less than $50. This means you can have an amazing website up and running in less than an hour - for under $100. The majority of work is populating the site with content.
5. Proven
Wordpress has been around since 2003, and is extremely popular. It is used by roughly 17% of Alexa Internet's "top 1 million" websites, and as of August 2011, manages 22% of all new websites, making WordPress the most popular content management system on the internet today.
