Copy and paste. It’s one of the most common functions we all perform on a daily basis. It’s one of the simplest operations anyone can do with a computer, but it’s also one of the most limited. You can keep one bit of text saved at a time, but that’s been it for the longest time.
Now, we’ve got ClipMenu coming to the rescue. This Mac OS app turns pasting into a multifaceted art form. Simply download the app from the website and install it, and you’ve got the ability to record up to 8 clipboard types, from simple text to images and more.
The best part is that it allows you to clip and save up to 10 things at once, which really saves time for those deep into multitasking.
Once installed, you simply need to use keyboard shortcuts to access your saved content, with a different shortcut corresponding to each clipped item. For folks like us, who have to paste a broad set of items frequently, ClipMenu can quickly become a necessity.
Try it out yourself and just see if you can ever go back to standard one-and-done copy-pasting! Here’s the full list of things you can save to the clipboard:
- Plain text
- Rich Text Format (RTF)
- Rich Text Format Director (RTFD)
- Filenames
- URLs
- TIFF image files
- PICT image files
As always, more options are better!
