The month of March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, during which organizations, healthcare professionals, and advocates raise awareness, encourage screenings, and promote lifestyle changes that may reduce risk. There are approximately 150,000 cases of colorectal cancer diagnosed each year in the United States. According to the American Cancer Society, it is the fourth most common cancer among men and women in the United States.
Together with her Twitch friends LadyAmelthea and TheRealRascallyGrandpa, LongerDays employee Amelia, aka MackenzieFlohr, is helping to raise funds for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance to bring awareness to detecting colorectal cancer. The Colorectal Cancer Alliance will benefit from donations raised through the streaming of Lethal Company.
Colorectal cancer, often called colon cancer, occurs in the colon or rectum and is known for its ability to develop quietly, often without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. Because of this, colorectal cancer can go undetected for years, making awareness, early detection, and prevention more critical than ever.
As we observe Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, let’s commit to spreading the word, encouraging screenings, and supporting research efforts that bring us closer to a world where colorectal cancer is no longer a leading cause of cancer-related deaths.
Together, we can make a difference in the fight against colorectal cancer.
